第２シーズン第４話 The One With Phoebe's Husband 「フィービーが電撃結婚!?」では、フィービーが結婚していたと聞いて皆びっくり。

さて、ice dancerであるダンカンのressing room「楽屋」をフィービーが訪ねます。

Phoebe: So what's up? You came to see me yesterday.
Duncan: Oh, yeah, um, alright, I kind of need a divorce.
Phoebe: O...kay. How come?
Duncan: Actually, I'm getting married again.
Phoebe: What?
Duncan: Oh God, I don't know how to tell you this. I'm straight.
Phoebe: Huuh.
Duncan: Yeah, I know.
Phoebe: I don't, I don't understand. How can you be straight? I mean, you're so smart and funny and you throw such great Academy Award parties.
Duncan: I know. That's what I kept telling myself. But you just reach a point where you can't live a lie anymore.

フィービー：どうしたの？　昨日会いに来てくれたんでしょ
ダンカン：あぁ　離婚しなくてはいけなくなって
フィービー：あっそう　どうして？
ダンカン：実は結婚するんだ
フィービー：えっ？
ダンカン：何て言ったらいいか　僕ゲイじゃないんだ
フィービー：まぁ･･･
ダンカン：驚くのも無理はないね　
フィービー：どうして？　どこがゲイじゃないの？　頭もいいし　面白いし　アカデミィー賞パーティーもするじゃない
ダンカン：自分自身にもそう言い続けてたんだけど　もう偽りの生活はできなくなった

☆語句・表現
straight (ゲイではない)
Gay couples want to get married for the same reasons as straight couples.
「ゲイのカップルが結婚したい理由は　普通のカップルと同じである」

throw parties (= have parties)

live a lie (偽りの生活をする)
She doesn't know you're married? You have to stop living a lie and tell her.
「彼女知らないのか？　お前が結婚してるって事　偽りの生活は止めて　彼女に言えよ」

Green Cardは、偽装結婚防止のため最初の２年間はConditional Green Card「条件付きグリーンカード」が発行されるようですね。

フィービーはsmart, funny, throw Academy Award partiesがgayであるsigns/indications「印・徴候」と捉えているようですね。日本では「おネェ言葉」・「女装」・「女っぽい仕草」からそう判断しますかねぇ？
